Objectives

The details on this page are a summary of some of the provisions of the constitution of Engineers Ireland Bridge Club. The constitution takes precedence where there is a doubt about interpretation.

The object shall be to provide facilities for the playing of Contract Bridge, particularly for members of Engineers Ireland.

General Rules

Bridge is conducted in accordance with the rules of the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland, whose tournament rules apply.

Competitions shall be held at such times and under such conditions as the general committee or any sub-committee shall determine.

The Committee has responsibility for implementing the Rules and Constitution. All queries in this regard should be directed to the committee. Any matter that does not appear to be provided for in the Constitution should be referred to the committee for resolution.

Engineers Ireland Bridge Club accepts no responsibility whatever for the property or belongings of any member or visitor whilst on the premises.

Alterations, additions or amendments to the Constitution cannot be made except by a resolution at a General Meeting as provided for in the Constitution.
