A brief History
South Bucks Bridge Club

South Bucks Bridge Centre was created by Laurie Champniss in 1994 in a derelict barn which he renovated.

Bridge at the Centre has been run for many years under a licence from the Company which runs weddings and social activities, mainly at weekends and which has had the head lease from Laurie. As from June 2016 this head lease has been held by Tudor Barn Weddings Ltd.

As from 1st June 2016 the responsibility for bridge at the Centre is being managed by South Bucks Bridge Club, a new company limited by guarantee formed with Laurie's guidance, to which the licence has been awarded and which has been affiliated to the EBU. The new management is building on Laurie's original vision of encouraging the playing and enjoyment of bridge at all levels.

Teaching
South Bucks Bridge Club has issued a sub-licence to EBED, the EBU charity for bridge training and education, to continue to have responsibility for all bridge teaching at the Centre. Lessons will be based on the National Learning Programme Bridge for All syllabus. Chrys Poole will remain as Team Leader.

Management
As from the beginning of August 2016 Chrys Poole will also be Bridge Club Manager..She will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the Club, for assisting EBED with promoting courses and for liason with teachers and Tudor Barn Weddings staff.

Catering
All lunches, sandwiches and any other catering for bridge events are being provided by Jo Williams on behalf of Tudor Barn Weddings, to a similar standard as in the past.
