The Eilish Walsh Trophy was donated by Gerry Walsh in memory of his wife Eilish who died in 2012. The competition was inaugurated in 2014. Eilish was Bridge President in 2009. She was an extremely good bridge player who was a regular winner at the bridge table not only in Elm Park but also in external competitions. The individual winner of the Eilish Walsh Trophy is decided over 6 designated normal Wednesday competitions spread out through the main playing season. The result is calculated on a person's average percentage performance based on the best five out of six competitions. Only one score with the same partner can count. The terms of the competition were changed in 2023 - 2024 to be the best 4 out of 6 competitions.
