The Board is saddened to learn of the death of past member, Shona Hutt. Shona was a member for many years and played regularly in the club, albeit some time ago. 
Funeral service will be at Invergowrie Parish Church on Friday, April 4, at 12 noon, thereafter at Birkhill Cemetery to which all friends are invited.

The Board is saddened to learn of the death of long standing, current member, Brian Owens. Brian played regularly in the club and on line until ill health made it increasingly difficult for him. He was a very skilled player and was always  a perfect gentleman both at the bridge table and away from it.
Funeral service will be on  April 7 at 1.00 pm at Brewsterwells Crematorium, Largoward, Leven.

1NT Opener – what next? Presented by Julia Palmer. Partner opens 1NT. Should we go to game? Should we play in a suit contract? How to reach the best contract?

No partner required. There will be 12 hands available for participants to bid and discuss. Copies of seminar notes, slide hand-outs, and hand commentaries will be distributed to participants after the seminar. This seminar is aimed at Bronze players.

Cost £10. Once payment has been received here, an email from the Scottish Bridge Union will provide the RealBridge link which will also be available on the SBU website on the day of the event. In case of problems email education@sbu.org.uk.

Dundee Bridge Club will be holding a heat of the SBU Scottish National Pairs on Saturday 5^th April at the club. Play will commence at 13:00. This will be run as a simultaneous pairs event played across five venues.

Red points will be awarded in the heats and top qualifiers (number dependent on entries) will go forward to the final to be held in Glasgow Bridge Centre on 19^th April 2025.

The Airlie (scratch) and Rockfield (handicap) trophies will be played on Tuesday evenings on the following dates: 5^th Nov, 3^rd Dec, 7^th Jan, 4^th Feb, 4^th March, & 1^st April. The format will be a multiple teams’ movement.
These competitions are only open to members of Dundee Bridge Club. Substitutes are allowed but must be club members.

The SBU National Mixed Swiss Pairs tournament was held at the New Melville Bridge Club in Edinburgh on Saturday 22^nd February 2025. Twenty-eight pairs took part. Dundee Bridge Club pairs did very well with three pairs finishing in the top third of the field; first, fifth and nineth. Well played and congratulations to the winners.
