DSR AGM 2025 |
The AGM of Dublin South Region took place on Friday 23rd May at Templeogue Bridge Centre.
Reports were given by the Honorary Secretary, the Honorary Treasurer, and the Competitions Secretary.
Dermot O'Brien, CEO of the CBAI, was unable to attend but his report to the Committee was presented by DSR's Honorary Secretary.
Moya Murphy gave a summary of her year as president, which included Dublin South Region being responsible for selecting the teams that would represent the Leinster Province in the annual IBU International Championship. She had continued to liaise and work closely with CBAI and mentioned the heartening increase in entries to all competitions. Moya then spoke about the work of the various committee members and the warm welcome she received during her visits to several clubs. She ended by saying that she had enjoyed her year as President and wished to thank the committee, the club members and the management of the CBAI centre for the enduring support that she has received throughout the year.
John Coulter was then presented with his chain of office. He thanked all those present for his nomination and said that he looked forward to his year as president and to continuing the work of Dublin South Region.

Final of the Fanagan League |
The conclusion of the Fanagan League was held on Sunday 11th May at the CBAI bridge centre, Templeogue.
The trophies were presented by Jody Fanagan, Managing Director of Fanagans Funeral Directors, who have been sponsoring this competition since 1998.
Jody expressed his pleasure at being asked to present the trophies and his hope that the association of Fanagans Funeral Directors with this competition will continue for a long time to come.
It was a very enjoyable evening and our president, Moya Murphy, would like to thank Fanagans Funeral Directors, all the clubs that participated, all those who worked so hard in the background to make the evening a successful one and Mary Barry, manager of the CBAI centre.

Fanagan League 2024-25
We would like to thank Fanagan Funeral Directors for their continued sponsorship of our much-loved Dublin South Bridge league.
This year we have 64 teams playing in 9 divisions in this year.
• Confined Masters
• Senior Intermediate

• Novice
The Confined Masters and Inter A’s are large divisions of 8 teams so will have 7 matches to play so will be busy, all the other divisions will have 5-6 matches.
All the teams will play their last match in Templelogue Bridge Centre on Sunday 11th May 2025, our Grand Finale night, always a very enjoyable night!
There will also be an open pairs competition on Sunday 11th May for those teams who do not have a scheduled match and for panel members not playing in the final match,
so everyone can enjoy our Grand Finale.

Dublin South Region AGM 2024
The Dublin South Region AGM took place on Friday 24th May at Templeogue Bridge Centre, where both the Secretary and Treasurer reported on the past year's activities. In her outgoing President's report, Teresa Gavin told us how much she enjoyed her year as President and that she was delighted to see further increases in participation in DSR and CBAI events over the 2023/24 season, and noted that the Fanagan League was again a great success with 57 teams participating from 16 DSR clubs. Teresa then handed over the President's Chain of Office to newly-elected DSR President 2024/2025, Moya Murphy.
Moya, an active member in a number Dublin South Bridge Clubs, addressed the meeting and spoke of how she is looking forward to her year and continuing the good work for the region. We wish Moya the best of luck in her Presidency for the 2024/2025 bridge season.
