East has a difficult decision?
Open 1♣ the longer suit or 1♥ ?
If partner bids 1♠ are you strong enought to bid 2♥ s. Partner will expect a strong hand with the reverse. It has strong playing strength, but not in HCPs. If no fit is found it could be difficult.
If you open 1♥ over 1 ♠ you can bid 2♣ s and rebid ♣ s again to show 5 in both suits. I think this is the safe route.
So East opens 1♥
West is strong and will bid 2♦
East will not be happy with the 2♦ bid and his void, but he can show 5+♥ s and 4+♣ s.
West will probably bid 4♥ s with the fit and 14HCPs opposite an opening bid.
So now the play!!
East with a balanced hand will probably lead a trump.
North will play the A♥ and lead a low ♥ back.
Drawing the last trump in West.
West can play the K♦ and through a ♠
South will win play a ♠ (the discard suggest that suit to lead.
North wins the ♠ and East playing ♣ s normally trying to finesse for the Q♣ , but it will drop before the decision.- so 4♥ makes 10 tricks.
Unless South leads the A♦ which could give East the possibiility of disposing of the 2 ♠ s.
