Slam in ♠ s or NTs?
In Duplicate NTs 10 extra points can be a top if it makes the same as in trumps. In teams scoring a safer contract is better.
East has a standard 2NT (20-22 HCPs).
West will transfer to ♠ s by bidding 3♥ s
East will rebid 3♠ s as requested.
E/W have enough for slam 20+12HCPs minimum 32 HCPs.
So do not bid 3N as this could be passed out.
West will bid 4NT RKCB 1430 with ♠ s as trumps
Then East will bid 5♠ s showing 2KCs and the Q trumps.
West will bid 6♠ s (missing one KC)
Then East has a duplicate question. If many will bid a slam, it may be better to bid 6N with the 4333 hand that is unlikely to score an additional trump trick, so many will bid 6NT and a top (7 makes on the ♠ finesse, but grand slams on a finesse is not good in the long run.
