North opens a standard 1NT 12-14

East will pass

South will want to show their hand shape and go to the best game, so will bid 2 to transfer to ♠ s.

West will pass.

North has a useful way to show 4 card support for the trump suit, by 'super accepting' the transfer. As there is at least a 9 card fit this meets the 'bid to the level of fit - Andrew Robson

This allows partner to judge whether there is the opportunity of game or even slam.

There is a simple version of super accepting - which is to bid 3 rather than 2 of the transfer suit.

You should agree whether this should only be done on a good 1NT hand e.g. 13+ or whether it is done on just 4+ trump support.

https://www.bridgebum.com/jacoby_transfers.php discusses this option.

For reference here is Peter Holland on transfers over 1NT

Here if North just uses the simple 3♠ super accept, south will think there is a possibility of a slam and can explore with a cue bid of 4 - showing 1st round control (some would play this as 1st or 2nd round control. Here is Peter Holland again on cue bidding including why 1st and 2nd round controls are better than 1st round control bids.

North will respond also with a cue bid 4 .

South will then enquire for key cards with RKCB 1430.

North will respond 5 showing 2 key cards wiothout the Q of trumps.

South will see a good chance of 6♠ which is an easy contract to make.
