South will open 1♣ with the aim of reversing (17+ gf hand).
North will bid 1♠
South will reverse to show a strong hand by bidding 2♥ .
North's hand look reallu strong now and to who shape 5+♠ s, 4+♥ s and a shortage in ♦ s will bid 4♦ agreeing ♥ s and a shortage in ♦ s.
South will be slightly concerned that there is a misfit in ♠ s and ♦ s, but should try 4NT RKCB 1430 to ask for the 5 missing As..
North will respond 5♥ to show 2 As and missing the Q trumps.
South will respond 6♥ , though he has all 5 Aces, he is missing the Q of trumps so should settle for 6. To bid a slam or grand slam one should expect to make >50% of the time. As the cards lay, 7 makes but one should not bid it.

South will open 1♣
West can support all the other suits but will probably pass or overcall 1♦ as they are not strong enough for a double. Here is a great article with examples that explains and discusses the options and choices. https://bridgewinners.com/article/view/bid-a-suit-or-double/
Over either 1♦ or a pass North with a balanced hand and 11-12 HCPs and a stop in ♦ s will bid 2NT.
East will pass.
South with 16HCPs and good intermediates will raise to 3NT. |
