North has a standard 1♥ oppening bid.
East will pass.
South has a reasonable 10HCP balanced hand. The choice being 1N (not ideal with J3 ♠ ) or 2♣ .
Over 2♣ West will pass, over 1N West might try 2♣ ( a bit aggresive, but NV)
North then has to decide whether to bid 2♥ or 3♥ . As partner did not bid 1♠ he probably does not have 4♠ s
3♥ is probably better.
5 loser hand (if a fit is found) Losing Trick Count is useful for hand evaluation.
6/4 shape is great with 6/4 bid more!
Hand evaluation shows hw strong the hand is (Kaplan and Rubens Evaluator) the hand comes out at 18.85 versus 14HCPs!
So over a 3♥ by North South will raise to 4♥ . |
