An extreme hand to bid.
West is to strong to open 4♥ opposite an unbid partner so bid 1♥ and see what happens.
North will overcall 1♠
East will bid 2♣
South will want to preempt to the level of fit, but will be worried by the vulnerability. But 4♠ will make it very difficult for West. Here is Andrew Robson on bidding to the level of fit.
West notes partners 2♣ bid showing values (probably 8+ and a good suit). Choices are 5♥ , 6♥ and possibly 4NT or 6NT.
What would your partner take 4NT as (RKCB ask for ♣ s the last bid suit, or showing a place to play. If a place to play he will raise to 6NT as the ♣ s are a great source of tricks.
Over 5♥ East has a good source of tricks and the ♠ singleton may be useful, so will raise to 6♥
Well done to those who got to a slam.
