Change of Venue for 2026
The Devon County Congress will take place in the Grand Hotel in Torquay

The weekend includes a ten-match Green-pointed Swiss Pairs competition on the Friday and Saturday, and a six-match Green-pointed Swiss Teams competition on the Sunday. The Saturday programme starts at 1pm to allow players to enjoy the attractions of Torquay in the morning.
The Hotel
The four-star Grand Hotel in Torquay is located on the seafront, close to the railway station and a stroll away from the town centre, marina & harbour. The hotel is adjacent to the railway station. Drivers can park for free on-street or behind the station. Parking in the hotel garage costs £10 per night.
The Hotel is offering special congress rates of £85 PPPN for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast sharing a Standard Twin/Double Room. There is a single supplement of £20 per night and a sea-view upgrade of £25 per room per night. These rates are only applicable for a minimum stay of two nights. The programme is shown below. Timings of breaks and the end of play are approximate. The organisers reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the programme as a result of unforeseen circumstances.

Prices are per person:
Full Congress: £72 (including sandwich lunch on Sunday)
Swiss Pairs Only: £42
Swiss Teams Only: £40 (including sandwich lunch on Sunday)
A 50% discount is available for registered youth players, defined as any player aged 25 or under on the 31st December 2026, provided their date of birth is registered with the EBU. To enter, complete the form below.
Prize Money
Swiss Pairs First Prize of £200 (£100 each), Swiss Teams First Prize £240 (£60 each). Other prizes will be dependent on the number of entries. The organisers reserve the right to change the format and value of prizes at their discretion.
