Event License Forms

Events run in Devon need to have licenses from both the DBA and the EBU. Application forms are below.

Calling all Clubs

Calling all clubs - this one-day MiniTD course is designed to support you to train more club directors.

Many clubs rely on just one or two people to do all their setting up and directing.
While clubs often have players that may be willing to help, they are sometimes put off by the commitment required to complete the full EBU TD course.
This MiniTD course, subsidised by the Devon Bridge Association, is designed to help!

When is it?

Sunday, March 29, 2026 starting at 10am, finishing by 5pm approximately.

Where is it?

Victoria Park Club, Lyndhurst Road, Exeter, EX2 4NX

What does it cover?

This one-day MiniTD course will cover most of Day 1 and Day 2 of the full EBU Club Director course, condensed into six hours of tuition!
Attendees will learn how the laws of bridge work and how to apply them in the majority of situations, including dealing with the most common TD calls.
Due to time pressures, there won't be be opportunity for any simulation practice on the day.
However, following the course, attendees are encouraged to get supervised practice in their club, where their regular TDs can also cover choosing the movement and scoring, as these aspects of the TD role will not be covered on the course.

Before the course

Attendees will receive paperwork prior to the course and will be expected to bring a copy of the 2017 laws, either in printed form, or on an electronic device (tablets are recommended).
The laws can be downloaded for free HERE.

Cost

The subsidised cost of the course is £20 for attendees sent from Devon clubs that are EBU-affiliated, and £30 for attendees from other clubs.
Tea and coffee will be available all day and attendees are asked to bring a packed lunch.
