The 2026 Chester Congress is on Saturday & Sunday 24th & 25th January and is a Blue Pointed event licensed by the EBU. It is F2F at Deva Bridge Club, Village Road, Christleton, Chester, CH3 7AS.
Saturday is a Swiss pairs competition for the Capel Cups starting at 11am.
Sunday is a Swiss teams competition for the Latham Knox Trophy starting at 11am.
The two competitions are named after founder members of Deva Bridge Club. For this year's congress we have:
- Cash & other prizes to value of 20-25% of entrance fees
- Entrance fees (per player): £17.50 for pairs, £17.50 for teams, £35 for full congress
- There is a refreshment break on both days when a two course meal is available for a cost of £17 (alternatively you can bring your own food). Menu choices are:
- Saturday - choice of 1) Leek and Chicken puff pastry pie, 2) dark sticky Lamb stew 3) Posh deep filled vol-au-vent with Broccoli and Stilton or Brie & Cranberry, all served with seasonal vegetables
- Sunday - choice of 1) Salmon in white wine and watercress sauce, 2) Beef Stifado 3) warm Roquefort Cheesecake with pears and balsamic vinegar, all served with seasonal vegetables
- followed by a selection of desserts.
- Free coffee/tea, other drinks available for purchase (wine, beer, soft drinks)

- Payment by online banking preferred please (details on the entry pages). Entry and meal costs to be paid on entry to confirm your place. Entries will be acknowledged by email.
- Prize giving will be soon after play finishes, which on both days should be around 6:15pm.

- Systems allowed to EBU level 4 - Blue Master Points on the County Scale
- Last years winners of the Capel Cup were Alec Smalley and Tom Slater and winners of the Latham Knox Trophy were Alan Mould, John Hassett, John Holland and Jackie Pye
