John Cliffe Award |
The John Cliffe Award is an annual award given by the Committee to recognise consistent high performance in club sessions by a member with an EBU rating of District Master or below.
The 2023/24 award was given to Mac McCarthy following the October 2024 AGM.
In recent years, the Committee have used the following criteria to determine the award:
- The qualifying period for the Award shall be one year starting 1 September.
- Previous recipients will not be eligible.
- All other members of Deva Bridge Club, who have an EBU Master Points ranking of District Master or lower at the start of each qualifying period, shall be eligible.
- The Award shall be made to the eligible person who has a) the highest average percentage score in standard Club sessions during the qualifying period and b) has played a minimum of 40 times. In the event of a tie, the Award will go to the person who has played the greater number of times.
- The Award shall be a token/voucher to a value determined by the Deva Bridge Club Committee, taking into account interest rates applicable during the qualifying period.
- The Award shall be made annually at the Deva Bridge Club AGM.
- All matters relating to this Award shall be decided by the Deva Bridge Club Committee.
