  Rules - Simple Systems

Simple Systems (with Stratification)

General. A match pointed pairs event for players of ALL standards with the intention of encouraging club players who do not regularly play in County events.

Eligibility.  This is an open competition for players who are members of the EBU or another country's sponsoring organisation.

Systems and Conventions.  Only the systems and conventions contained in the “SIMPLE SYSTEMS” convention card, which can be viewed on the Simple Systems page, may be used.

Scoring. Match-pointed pairs scoring.

Stratification. There will be three strata and the suggested divisions will be as follows:

A             All Players

B             Players below the rank of Regional Master

C             Players below the rank of Advanced Master

the Tournament Organiser will have the option at their discretion to alter the stratification levels if the event will not give three approximately equal strata based on the Master Point ranks of the players entering the competition.
