All club members are welcome to play bridge at the Cumberland. We are always delighted to have more players joining our sessions.
Bridge is played at the Club alternate Friday evenings starting at 6:45pm. We have both duplicate and teams evenings. There is a Director for duplicate evenings. We play in the Ramus Room, top floor of the main Clubhouse. We play between 18 and 24 boards during a session. We have a buffet supper during the evening, for which we charge a £16 fee, this includes both bridge and supper.
We play teams matches against other clubs such as Queens, The All England, Hurlingham, RAC and MCC. There are “in house trophies” which are competed for during some of our regular evenings.
An email is sent out approximately ten days prior to a Friday evening game by a member of the bridge committee. You are asked to reply so that numbers are known in advance for catering and organising the bridge.
The chairperson of the bridge section is Mike Taub, who can be contacted by clicking here to email, and he is assisted on the Committee by Ron Lis (Treasurer), Linda Simmons and Caroline Cohen.
For those players looking to join the section, please contact Mike in the first instance. Mike is also the best person to speak to should you require a partner for any of the sessions.
