We are a popular and friendly club with over 100 members and run two sessions every Monday, at 2pm and 7pm.
The afternoon session is run face-to-face and the evening session runs on-line using BBO
We are affiliated to the EBU and offer Master Points

2025
The SCBA is running a number of events over the next few months. All of our events are held in the Woolavington village hall. They start at 1:00 pm, pause for tea around 4:30 or so, and normally finish by 7:00 pm.
March 23rd
Club Teams of Eight. The winning team from this event qualifies to represent Somerset in the Garden Cities event. Forming a team of eight can be difficult for clubs. Clubs are allowed to form a single team from one or more clubs to overcome this problem. Entry forms are here.
April 27th
Our final event of the competition year also consists of two parallel events. The first is the Mixed Pairs event, and the second is a 9 High event. Entry forms for the Mixed Pairs are here, and entry forms for the 9 High event are here.

| EBU rule changes |
There are 28 changes and clarifications. Here are a few that you are most likely to come across:
Opening 2NT. This is no longer needs announcing or alerting
Redoubles: showing a suit - Announce the suit. (eg exit transfers)
2 level openings: Announce. ('Weak' is less then 10, 'intermediate' is up to 12, 'strong, forcing' is most likely your Benji minor openings).
When playing 5 card Majors and a weak club, the 2 ♣ opening should be announced as 'may be 2'
