Eileen Harding Handicap Pairs Competition

This competition was held on 15th April and was won by Pat Owen and Jean Myles

Congratulations to Pat and Jean.

Pat and Jean came third overall on the night with a strong score of 64.9% which, after the handicaps were applied, was more than sufficient to overtake the first and second pairs Sue/Vicky and Richard/Ian who were both less favourably handicapped.

Robin Sutton Swiss Pairs Competition

This competition was held on 10th June, but unfortunately the scoring computer generated many bizarre results, so it was decided to nullify the competition results and to re-run the competition in August. Apologies to all who participated on 10th June.

This re-run Swiss Pairs competition was held on 19th August.

Congratulations to the winning pair, Sue Phillips and Patricia Williams. 

The runners-up were jointly Richard and Ian, and Wendy and Claudia.

Sue and Pat won 4 of their 5 matches, losing only to Richard and Ian in Match 2.

 

Nesbitt Teams Competition

This competition was held on 15th July and was won by the team of Robert Barnett and Margaret Clark, Ray Elms and Ann-Marie Hickman with a healthy 32 IMPS. The runners up were Irene and Roger Button, David Sewell and Jean Raggett with 7 IMPS.  All other teams had negative IMP values. 

 

Marjorie Cox Pairs

This standard pairs competition was held on 16th September and was won by Irene and Roger Button with a healthy margin of almost 6 percentage points over Pat Owen and Jean Myles who came second.

 

Simultaneous Pairs events

The club took part in 6 such events in 2025.  Those who came in the top third of each competition were awarded additional masterpoints as listed below
