Games at the Club
The games this week at the Club are ALL for either for DOUBLE MASTERPOINTS or for the games on Friday and Saturday, they are 50%RED/50% Black!
The game schedule is:

- Saturday 10:00 a.m. POP-UP Mother's Weekend 50% RED/50% Black You must let Mary know by 6:00 p.m. Friday if you plan to play in RED/Black game on Saturday!

Major Suit Raises: The Accepted Tools for major suit raise agreements in use today Mondays, April 22-June 10, 2:30-4:30 p.m. 8 sessions $89
Last week we had a very lively session on the topic of constructive raises. Participants gained practical insights and played boards on how to get to game with virtually no HCP's!
On Monday, April 29 2:30-4:30 p.m., we will be discussing Forcing notrump responses: First & Second Seat verses 3rd or 4th seat The rest of the story! Also discussing Understanding Cansino Count and Shaded values

Modern No Trump Bidding: Wednesdays, April 17-May 22, 2:30-4:30 p.m. (no class May 8) 5 sessions $59
Last week we discussed when and how to tell your partner you have both majors as well as your point count. We also learned about "Trash Stayman". The group practiced several hands applying the elements of these topics. This week: Wednesday, May 1 2:30-4:30 p.m. How does my partner know when I open one no-trump or two no-trump while holding a 5-card major? What is Puppet Stayman and how do I use it? (Reminder: there is no class May 8)
Topics of the No Trump Bidding class include:
- What shape and range is now disallowed when opening One No Trump?
- When do I use Jacoby Transfers verses Texas Transfers when responding to my partner's 1NT opening bid?
- How do I decide whether to use a Transfer or Stayman when my hand has the criteria for both?
- How can I best tell my partner that I have a five or six card major when responding to a 1NT opening bid?
- When do I open One No Trump when I have a 5-card major?
- What is Puppet Stayman and how do I use it?
- When I have a long minor suit and no 4 or 5 card major, what are criteria to use in responding to 1NT opener by partner?
- After your partner opens One No Trump and the opponent doubles, when do you respond to opener with a redouble, what are you saying?
- What is the best way to respond to my partner's 1NT opening bid when I have both majors?
Beginning Bridge: Thursdays, April 25-June 6, 2:30-4:30 p.m. (no class May 9), Book: Two Over One: Beginning Bridge (Author is Jim Ricker). Book can be purchased from Amazon. 6 sessions $69 Every session will include playing hands specific to the topics covered.
Last week we had an overview of Duplicate Bridge and how to establish yourself at the table. The participants learned about opening and responding to a major opening and when it was appropriate for responder to tell opener about a new suit. Timing is EVERYTHING!
This week: Thursday, May 2 2:30-4:30 p.m. Opening one no-trump. What am I telling my partner? What is the first thing I am asking my partner? How does my partner respond?

Stardust Gold Event at Club
Last week we had 24 tables of players for the Stardust games (25% Gold/75% Black). Collectively, players at our club earned almost 4 GOLD masterpoints! Congratulations to each of you!
