ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Minutes of the 2025 Annual General Meeting are now available via the tab above

Welcome to Colchester Castle Bridge Club
CAR PARKING AT QUAKER HOUSE

There are up to 3 spaces available to the Club but, as they can also be taken up by other users of the QH, there can be no guarantee that all (or indeed any) will be free at any given time.

In addition there are 3 Blue Badge parking spaces (with no time restrictions) on Church Street (outside the Colchester Arts Centre) and the Committee asks members who qualify to park there to do so before using any spaces at the QH.

Any member who comes by car and hopes to park at the QH or outside the Arts Centre should arrive early and be prepared with an alternative plan in case no spaces are available.

REAL BRIDGE MONDAYS

We are playing on the Real Bridge web site every Monday afternoon starting at 1.30. If you wish to play just click on the link that has been sent to you via email from Bridgewebs, or, click on the link shown in green under the appropriate item in the Bridge Club web site's calendar. Please log in about 1.15 pm.

You will be able to see and hear the other players on your table. If you do not have a partner please log in and wait in the lobby. There may well be other players looking for a partner.

The table-money is 50p per player for each session.

Visitors do not pay table-money. A visitor's partner will pay for them. Visiting pairs must identify a member who is paying for them to the treasurer (if present), otherwise the Tournament Director must be informed of the identity of the visiting pair and the member sponsoring them. Visitors should ultimately become members of the Club, paying the joining fee of £5.

FACE TO FACE BRIDGE TUESDAYS

Face to face bridge sessions are held at the Quaker House on Tuesdays, please arrive by 1.15pm to enable a start to be made promptly at 1.30pm .The Director will arrange for the tournament to finish by 4.45pm

Please arrive early and help set up tables, chairs, etc.

The table-money is £3 per member & £3 per visitor player for each session.

ASSOCIATE FACE TO FACE SESSIONS
Associate Sessions are held at the Quaker House on Thursdays, please arrive by 1.15pm to enable a start to be made promptly at 1.30pm.

Please arrive early and help set up tables, chairs, etc.

Attendance is not restricted to members of the club, and, there is no need to come with a partner: a single will be set up with a partner on arrival.

These are not teaching sessions; they are an opportunity for inexperienced players to familiarise themselves – and not be intimidated by – the paraphernalia of Tournament Bridge that is played in local Bridge clubs. The idea is that they are friendly, uncompetitive and social occasions.

The table-money is £4 per person in cash at start of play.

MONEY ON ACCOUNT

A member becomes liable for table money after playing in on line or face to face sessions (not Associates), and, that member's account is charged with the appropriate amount.

When a member makes a payment to the club the payment is credited to that member's account.

If members want to know about their account with the club, or, want to know how to make payments, please contact the Treasurer
