| That Was the Week That Was! |
What a wonderful week!
Monday Night Individual Winner, Frances McKeon, was first amongst 82 players.
Well seen why everyone loves this teacher!

Tuesday Afternoon Bronze Champions Evelyn Hinson & Pauline Warlow led the field of 23 Pairs.
Wednesday Afternoon Swiss Pairs: And another huge "tick" for our Academy with Norma Fingland and Maggie Shenkin coming 1st out of 50 pairs. We had to bring down an extra table - this was our largest tournament ever!

Wednesday Night brought the Swiss Teams event and at last the men made a showing with Alan Livingstone, Myra Livingstone, Raymond Blin and Louis Glekin coming in first.

Wednesday night also saw Margaret’s last night mentoring the Play & Learn group who presented her with a beautiful bouquet as a thank you.
Next came the Thursday Night No Fears Championships with John Wright & Janice Cullen taking the Crown.
And the Friday Night Play with the Expert Teams were a great success with the winning team being Helena Belikova, John Gough, Mei Feng and Neil Wylie.

Our fabulous week of bridge ended with the West District competitions on Saturday and Sunday. There was a fabulous turn out on Saturday with 80 people enjoying the Swiss Pairs. The winners were Michael Huebeck and Clare Harlan. Come the Sunday Swiss Teams and guess what? Michael and Clare won again along with their team mates Harry Smith and Roy Bennet. Well done to everyone but especially Michael and Clare for winning the “ double”. Sorry Michael and Clare - only one picture of you!

| Our First Graduation |

Congratulations to our first graduates from the Bridge Academy. The smiling faces show how much they have enjoyed their first year of lessons, and are looking forward to starting year 2 after the summer. They will be coming to Play & Learn on Wednesday evenings so if you see "new faces" please make them welcome.
