Refresh your bridge knowledge and rebuild your confidence

We are pleased to announce our next Refresher Course, designed for players who already know the basics of bridge but would like to refresh their knowledge, gain more practice and rebuild their confidence before playing regularly or moving on to Improver-level bridge.

Start Date: 5th October
Day: Monday mornings
Time: 10.00am – 12 noon
Duration: 6 weeks
Cost: £85 including VAT

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This course would suit players who:

• Learnt bridge some time ago but haven't played for a while.
• Have completed a Beginner's Course but feel they need more practice before joining a regular club session.
• Play occasionally but feel rusty or unsure about bidding, play or defence.
• Understand the basic bidding system but have gaps in their knowledge.
• Would benefit from guided play and discussion of hands.
• Want to rebuild their confidence at the table.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED

Over the six weeks we will revisit and develop some important areas of the game, including:

• Hand Evaluation & the Losing Trick Count (LTC)
• Overcalls – how to make them and how to respond and deal with them
• 2C Openings – responses and Roman Key Card Blackwood (RKCB)
• Reverses
• Card Play
• Play Week – putting your knowledge into practice with guided play and discussion
