2. Confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting

The minutes of the meeting of 6th March were confirmed and the Chairman signed them.

3. To Report on the Actioning of Items from Previous Meetings

23-1Ⓐ1 GW to put the 2022 accounts on the website, asking for any questions to be sent in before the AGM. ⓓⓞⓝⓔ

23-1Ⓐ2 GW to print 10 copies of the accounts and distribute at AGM. ⓓⓞⓝⓔ

23-1Ⓐ3 RA to ask her Elmbridge accounting contact whether there would be a price advantage in the club becoming a charity. ⓓⓞⓝⓔ

4. Brief Review of the AGM held 13th March

The AGM occurred without the committee being aware of any adverse comment. The cups for the Club Championship were in poor condition. We should retrieve them from the current holders before presenting them next year.

5. Review of Activities

5a. Money and Banking

• The Club is covering its costs, so long as we get ten tables per session.
• We hire the hall from Elmbridge Council.
  • PAYMENT TIMING: We used to pay the council quarterly in arrears. Now they insist we pay monthly in advance, which is standard practice today.
  • METHOD OF PAYMENT: They have now told us that they don't accept cheques any more. Long term, the direction will be online payment, but for the time being, they will only accept payment via a debit card.
  • BILLED AMOUNT: We need to ensure we don't pay for Bank Holiday Mondays.

23-2Ⓐ1 RA to request a Debit Card from Barclays.

5b. Membership

• The Club has 79 members.
• A small number of previous members have not renewed, but they have not played at the Club this year. No further chasing up is planned.

6. Kicking off the 23-24 Club Championship

The Championship will start under the usual rules on 14th August.
