I was impressed by the Alice in Wonderland-themed decorations added to the downstairs rooms at this National Trust location for the Christmas period. Visited last Thurday afternoon.

According to Surrey County Council, Hare Lane will be closed for resurfacing from the junction with Dalmore Avenue to Oaken Lane from Thursday 15 May for seven nights, with working hours from 8pm to 6am.

So — if you normally use Hare Lane or Oaken Lane to leave the Day Centre on Monday evenings — next Monday you should head for Church Road, then Coverts Road, then Foley Road, and turn left on to Hare Lane, which should enable you to head towards Esher, Thames Ditton etc.
