Minutes of the Meeting of the Claygate Bridge Club Committee held at 18.15 on the 22nd of July 2024 at Elm Road

1. Absent
Apologies were received from Christine Ward (CW) and Val McGourty (VM),
2. Confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting
The minutes of the meeting of 22nd April 2024 were confirmed and the Chairman signed them.
3. Actions Outstanding
The committee agreed not to produce Calendar Cards this year.
- 23-3Ⓐ1 GW to produce about 50 calendar cards. ⒸⓁⓄⓈⒺⒹ
4. Review of the Club's Activities
- The Club's finances seem to be trundling along OK, with an average of about nine tables each Monday. There are no plans to increase the table money for members.
- We are not aware of much change in the membership.
- Members are asked to be careful when putting away the tables at the end of the evening, to avoid tearing the fabric of the table surface when moving the tables or stacking them in their rack in the closet.
5. 2024-25 Club Championship
- RA to investigate cost of purchasing two new trophies for the winners, and the annual cost of engraving. The existing trophies cannot be repaired.
6. Any Other Business
- We propose to schedule the Christmas Party for 16th December.
- We propose not to run a Monday session on 23rd December.
- We should make the Host system more reliable by checking with the week's (or month's) hosts in advance. Email them first, then phone them if no response. Has CW got the members' email addresses?
7. Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting will be scheduled for 6pm on 28th October.
