2. Confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting

The minutes of the meeting of 10th October were confirmed and the Chairman signed them.

3. Club Finances

The Club's finances are in good shape, with about £3,000 in the bank.

4. Elmbridge's Management of the Day Centre

It was noted that the Centre has a new manager now Trudy has resigned. The Centre was closed for the previous two Mondays because of a sudden focus at Elmbridge on safety procedures. There is no longer a caretaker while we play, so we have been loaned a set of keys by Elmbridge and now must unlock the Centre each Monday evening, lock the players in while everyone is in the hall, and shut down and lock up the Centre at the end of the evening. We have had to submit a new Risk Assessment document, and sign Fire Regulations which involve the use of the scoring computer as the register of attendees in the event of evacuation. Members should evacuate to an assembly point at the far corner of the car park.

We will monitor how this progresses. The Club has little choice over its venue.

5. Host Rota

GW has produced and broadcast the 2024 rota. This has resulted in the resignation of a member who had not played this year.

6. 2024 Calendar Card

7. Preparations for the Xmas Party

Various food, drink and utensil acquisition duties were assigned. The Committee agreed to arrive at 1800 on the 18th. RA is doing the egg sandwiches.

8. New Committee Members

With the retirement of VB and PH imminent, there is a pressing need for new Finance and Refreshments personnel. It was agreed that the Accounting/Membership role be split into two: Accounting and Membership.

The next committee meeting will be held at 6pm on Monday 11th March 2024 at Elm Road, a week in advance of the AGM on 18th March.
