Farewell |
Chesham Bridge Club members were invited to an EGM on Tuesday 10 May where a motion was put to the meeting that because of declining numbers willing to meet face to face, the club should close.
Eighteen of our members attended the meeting in the Town Hall, which was sufficient for a quorum.
After a constructive discussion the motion that the Club should cease to operate was agreed unanimously.
It was also agreed that the committee will hold onto all the equipment for the next 3 months in case anyone decides to reinstate it. After this time all the assets will be disposed of at the Committee's discretion.
Using some of the funds we have agreed to arrange a farewell bridge party in June and do hope you will all be able to attend. We will let you know the date shortly.
After the party any remaining money will be donated to the following charities: Air Ambulance, Ian Rennie Hospice, British Heart Foundation and BBOWT.
Whilst it is a sad time for Chesham Bridge Club, which should have celebrated its 50 th anniversary last year, we do hope that you will continue to enjoy playing this wonderful game either on line or at other clubs.
Best wishes
CBC Committee
