Booking Your Seats at a Club Session

Some club sessions will have a limit on attendance e.g. for social distancing. The website Calendar entry for such events will state "Booking Required". This guide explains what you need to do to reserve seats for you and your partner in advance.

Book your seats online by going to the club website home page. For each session, only one player should book both seats for the partnership.

  1. Click the Club Calendar picture:

  2. Find the session in which you wish to play (use the arrows at the top of the Calendar to advance to the next month if necessary).

  3. A club session description should state that booking is required and the maximum number of pairs. Touch (on an iPad) or move the mouse pointer (on a PC) on the session, and click the 'Booking Required' picture:

(Tip: this is also where you can put your name down as a standby, or advertise as looking for a partner)

  4. When the ‘Booking’ window appears, type in your name (or email or EBU number, but not all three) and click the ‘Check’ button. This checks that you are a club member. Once you have been checked, you won’t have to repeat this step during the current web browser session (you will go straight to the next step). If there are already existing bookings this will show (in the example below, there is one pair already booked to play in the session). If the number of existing bookings equals or exceeds the maximum number of pairs, then you may still book, but you will be a reserve on the Wait List. If there are cancellations, you will be promoted to playing, so please check the list again before the event.

  5. Type in the full name of your partner (not email address or EBU number or anything else), and click the 'Add Booking' button:

  6. That's it - you are now booked in to play. Subsequently, if for any reason you can't play, it's important that you remove your booking by clicking the 'Remove' button instead. If you make a mistake, repeat the booking process and your latest booking will supercede all previous.
