Here on the Central Coast of California we have three locations for you to indulge in the best game in the world:  BRIDGE!!

Our SLO Club has games in downtown San Luis Obispo, the 5 Cities Club plays in Arroyo Grande, and the North County Club is in Paso Robles.  With three sites in operation, there is a robust schedule of games throughout the month.  Check out the schedule with the Calendar button on menu at the top-left of this page.  Club addresses and fees are here.

The bridge clubs in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande are adding new ways to assist beginning and intermediate  players in the weeks to come.  Watch this space for new ideas and new times for the games.

San Luis Obispo DBC (SLO): The Unit Game

      Schedule:  The Unit Game for August will be held on the 3rd Saturday, August 15. Subsequent Unit games will return to the 2nd Saturday of the month.

       Opportunity:  The format for the Saturday events has been modified to take less time overall, and to provide a Roundtable Review of selected hands. The games start at 11:00am, take a break for a pizza lunch, and will end about 3:15pm.  The Roundtable Review will begin in the lounge, where a Life Master will discuss specific boards, chosen by the 299ers, and end about 4:00pm.  (Players from the Open game are also invited.)  An added bonus: the 299 game is free to 299ers on August 15!

5-Cities DBC (AG):  The Wednesday Games

      Schedule:  The "Open and 199er" game on the 3rd Wednesday of the month will be limited to being a "199er-only" game, beginning with the game on August 19.  The space in the Woman's Club is typically crowded on the 3rd  Wednesday, as we have to share the space with another group.  

      Opportunity:  The club is experimenting with a new mentoring program that will facilitate one-on-one partnerships between a highly experienced player and a less experienced player.  The plan is to pair a volunteer "pro" with an enthusiastic "amateur" to play at least 3 games together, with the goal of developing the less experienced player's skill and confidence as they advance.  Each pair will play together at the Wednesday Open game, on their own schedule, with a post-game discussion of at least 3 of the hands.  The club will subsidize the experienced player for up to 3 games with the same less-experienced player.
