Northside People Article on Battle of the Bay in support of St Francis Hospice

Very proud of this article in Northside People detailing the fabulous efforts of Dick Kiernan and Michael O'Keeffe in organising the Battle of the Bay event which raised almost €10,000 for St Francis Hospice.

Ukraine Fundraiser
Thank you!

That is how much you all helped us to raise for the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal on the last Saturday in March through our online bridge event. All the money has been remitted to the Red Cross. We had set a target of €5,000 for this event and we have collected over twice that amount. This is down to your generosity and that of all the bridge clubs who supported the event.

To all of you who played in the competitions on the 26th and paid your 10BBO$’s, thank you. You raised €1,212.19.

To all of you who donated online through iDonate or gave us cheques or cash, thank you. You donated €5,265.

To Bayside, Clontarf, Foxhall, Glasnevin, Raheny, Sportslink, St Anthony’s, St Gabriel’s, Vernon and Whitehall Bridge Clubs, thank you. You donated €3,120.

The Red Cross wrote to us on 6th May and stated:

“Like you, we are deeply concerned by what's happening in Ukraine. Violence has forced tens of thousands of Ukrainians from their homes and many are now desperately trying to reach safety.

Together with your support, Red Cross teams are working around the clock to get urgent, lifesaving aid to the most vulnerable. In these circumstances, your gift will be a lifeline. Your generosity will enable us to scale our humanitarian response and continue to help protect children, women and men caught up in this crisis. Such compassion and generosity inspire everything we do here at the Irish Red Cross. We are so grateful for the support shown here from people like you.

So, on behalf of everyone here at the Irish Red Cross – and on behalf of the many people whose lives you have helped to save – thank you for caring as much as you do.”

Thank You
