Cavan Bridge Club Captain's charity night was held recently. €1,500 was raised which was presented to Positive Age, Cavan.

Cavan Bridge Club held our Captain’s Charity Night on Monday November 13th in aid of Positive Age Cavan. A very successful and enjoyable night was had by all.

Club captain, Frances Daly, would like to thank everyone who came out to support this wonderful cause. This is a totally voluntary charity organisation which helps older people in the community stay connected.

Frances would also like to thank Frances O Callaghan who told us about the wonderful work carried out by the charity.   

We appreciate the effort of those who travelled some distance and thank them for their support of this worthy cause. So far around  €1,500 has been raised.

Congratulations to Paddy Mc Dermott & Melissa Brady who along with their teammates Seán & Bríd Galligan were winners of the Best Regional Masters Team at the Coen Cup

Congratulations to Anna Shalvey & Melissa Brady on on winning the Drogheda Congress Intermediate A pairs.

Anna & Melissa were also one half of the team who finished 2nd in the Intermediate A teams alongside Mary Maguire & Kathleen Mc Cabe.

The Club Championship was held earlier this month and the results were revealed at the Captains' dinner. 

The winners for this year were Betty Courtney & Sinead Mc Cann. In second place were Paddy Mc Dermott & Melissa Brady. Third place went to Frances Daly & Pat Plunkett. 

Net winners were Mykola Mits & Sean Kelleher, Mary Maguire & Bríd Campbell-Mc Manus in 2nd and Frank Gibbons & Stephen Trant in 3rd place.

Cavan Bridge Club members Melissa Brady, Kathleen Mc Cabe, Mary Maguire and Bríd Campbell-Mc Manus became national bridge champions this past weekend in Portlaoise. 

The team represented the North Eastern Region at the competition and won the National Intermediate B Teams Final.
