Anne Hauxwell
We have received the sad news that Anne Hauxwell died suddenly but peacefully on Saturday evening 23rd September. She was 86 and had been out that day to socialise and meet friends.
Anne had taken an active role in the North East bridge scene for the last 30-40 years. She was a member of several bridge clubs but her main interest was with Newcastle Bridge Club and their AGM minutes record thanks for her Scoring, Directing, Team Captain, Annual Congress Organiser (Holiday Inn) and website. She was generous with her time and always ready to help other scorers with their problems and both Directed and occasionally scored for Castle Morpeth. She had several bridge partners over the years including Ann Hopper, Carole Newton and Audrey Croft.
Anne was seriously ill 4 years ago but after chemotherapy and radiology made a remarkable recovery and was able to play BBO until last week.
We shall all miss her.
