| Conditions of Entry and Play |
- The Competition Committee comprises Margaret McConville, Tony Bourke, Ciara Gleeson and Paul Williams.
- An external Tournament Director will administer both events.
- To enter either the Silver Salver or Silver Plate competition in 2024 all players must have played at least three times in the clubhouse since September 2023.
- Entry is open to all Castle members and their spouses who satisfy the above criterion.
- No guests are permitted to play.
- These are two night competitions. You must play with the same partner on both nights.
- In extenuating circumstances a substitute may play on the second night. Should that happen the players concerned will be ineligible to win the competition or achieve an overall placing.
- Entry to the Silver Salver is open to all players who meet the entry criteria.
- Entry to the Silver Plate is confined to less experienced players who may be considered “beginners or improvers” and who meet the entry criteria.
- The Competition Committee will review entries to the Silver Plate. Any pairing who in the opinion of the Competition Committee, are too experienced for this competition will have their entry re-directed to the Silver Salver event. The pairing may accept the Competition Committee decision or withdraw their entry.
- The decision of the Tournament Director in relation to all matters pertaining to play shall be final.
- The decision of the Competition Committee in relation to any other matter shall be final.
