EBU Members win Tony Priday award |
|
This Award, in memory of Tony Priday, was instituted in 2015 and is usually given to individuals for an outstanding contribution to bridge and enhancing the game in all its aspects. For 2022 however, it was decided to give it to the EBU membership
“for supporting the game, the EBU and each other during the COVID pandemic.”

Michael Milligan - In Memoriam |
We are saddened to announce the death of Michael Millican who, with his wife Marybeth, founded this club more than twenty years ago. He was the Chairman for many years and was a true advocate for the game of bridge, directing, scoring, and introducing the bridge mates system we still use. He and Marybeth never came back to the club after Covid and were greatly missed.

Cary Cares |
On Thursday 12th December , Castle Cary Bridge Club held its annual Christmas party. Everyone had a nice time, and an individual tournament was held, won by Angela Herman. Full results can be seen in the results section of this site.
During the event, there was a raffle and members raised £150 for Cary Cares a local charity. We received the following kind words from Geoff Woolston, the group's treasurer.
We have recently received a generous donation from (the members of) Castle Cary Bridge Club of £150 by Pay Pal to Cary Cares. On behalf of the trustees, I would like to say a huge thank you. Support from our community is vital to allow Cary Cares to continue its work with the most in need across Castle Cary and Ansford, and your donation helps us to continue to run the community larder and food bank and provide emergency food provision as well as the other services we offer.
Well done to everyone who contributed with both prizes and buying tickets, and the club looks forward to helping members support other causes throughout 2025.
