Carlton Teams Championship Cup for the Porteous Cup. 

Mr and Mrs Porteous were Scottish International players and were the first winners of the National Pairs in 1946. They both were Presidents of the Scottish Bridge Union, Tommy in 1951 and Margaret 1973.  

It was presented by Mrs Porteous.

To encourage lower ranking members to take part a handicap system was introduced and a Handicap Cup awarded.
