County Teams League Instructions for Captains
The home team captain, (you can see if you are the home team via your own 'My EBU' , Utilities and Leagues), is to contact the away team captain to arrange the fixture. We ask that you play all of your games before the middle of April 2025. (Captains contact details and schedule at bottom on page or click this link), please offer the opposing captain a choice of dates as they will have to check availability with their team members.
If you want to play the game on RealBridge the home team captain is to complete a booking form, CTL Division 1 Booking Form or CTL Division 2 Booking Form, giving the organisers at least 7 days notice. It’s important to let us know the opposing captains name. It's important that the captain logs on to RealBridge using the name given, i.e. first and last name. (David Parish, not david parish, not Dave Parish, not D Parish etc) The county will pay all the cost charged by RealBridge.
If you are playing on another online platform, the home captain will be responsible for setting up the game and giving relevant details to the opposing captain. If you play Face to Face the home team will be responsible for any table money/Fees incurred in playing.
Playing your game on RealBridge
The RealBridge team’s games will be set up for you so your involvement in starting the game will be minimal.
You will then be sent the link for players, you will need to share the players link with your team members and the opposing captain to share with their team members, this way you know they have it and they know you have set up the game with us.
About 15 minutes before the start time: -
All players can log on and sit at their table, all members of the same team sit at their table opposite their partner.
The tables will be named, home team Table 1 (White) and away team will be at Table 2 (Brown).
The match will be set up with 2 rounds of 12 boards.
Both captains will be presented with a screen so the match can be started, see below. Both captains must confirm the start.
It’s VERY important that the captains log on with the name that has been provided, this is how the system identifies the captain
You can now play the first round of the match.
At the end of the first round you will be moved back to your home table by the system, the captains then have to confirm to the start of the second round and the players are moved automatically, do not move manually, the system does it.
Auto-swap NS/EW at half-time - When the teams move after the break, the system rotates the players from the lower-numbered team, so that East-West swap with North-South. Players must not manually change seats.
Now all you need to do is agree the result with the opposing team captain and upload to the EBU website, again very easy and instructions are here: - lms:captains [EBU Members Area Wiki] In the event that you have an issue uploading the results email the result to: - teamsleague@cambsbridge.org
If you have any problems you can call: -
RealBridge +44 (0) 794 232 2209 - They are very happy to help.
