Carol Smith is a professionally qualified Bridge Tournament Director with the English Bridge Union (EBU), an Approved Bridge Teacher with the English Bridge Teachers Association (EBTA), and a Professional Member of English Bridge Education and Development (EBED)—a distinction held by only eleven professionals in England.

With a deep passion for making bridge enjoyable and accessible, Carol specialises in teaching Beginners and Improvers using the EBU-approved Bridge for All syllabus. Her approach combines structured learning with encouragement, patience, and a commitment to building each student’s confidence and understanding of the game.

Carol enhances the bridge learning journey by offering Gentle Supervised Duplicate sessions, designed to ease the transition from classroom learning to playing in a club setting. She also hosts popular Bridge Experience Weekends, where learners can enjoy a relaxed mix of tuition and duplicate play in a sociable environment. In addition, Carol is a regular and popular, Bridge teacher on cruise ships.

Respected for her professionalism and loved by her students for her warmth and clarity, Carol has built a thriving bridge community through her website, Bridgewithcarolsmith, and active presence on Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter).

Whether you are taking your very first steps in bridge or looking to refine your play before joining a club, Carol’s goal is to make your bridge journey enjoyable, supportive, and successful.
