An invitation from Perth Bridge Club |
Perth Bridge Club invite all local Bronze players to play for the above, new, pairs trophy.
The event will be played at Perth Bridge Club, King Street, Perth commencing at 6.45pm each Monday night.
Running from Monday 5th May, for six Monday evenings until 9th June, the pair with the best four aggregate scores, will win this new trophy.
Specifically targeted at beginner to intermediate level, we hope to attract players from all local clubs.
Standard table money of £4.00 per person, per night, will apply.
This is designed to be a good fun but competitive competition.
Please communicate your interest in advance by emailing perthbridgeclub@gmail.com
Emailing in advance makes setting up the event, and scoring, much easier (albeit we will welcome pairs who just turn up on the evening).
There is no compunction to play each week but you need to play for 4 of the 6 weeks to be eligible to win!
If you have any questions, please email perthbridgeclub@gmail.com

The 2025 Spoons charity is SCAA again! |
After a poll of Spoons players, the majority voted to give all 2025 profit to SCAA for another year.
We are delighted to support Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance in 2025 with our main event- Dunkeld and Birnam CaféBridge Day on Tuesday 21st October and any other ‘Days of Bridge’ that the Spoons gang set up throughout the year. Tap here for the SCAA website.
A bit about SCAA….
At Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA), our mission is simple: to ensure that no one in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help can’t get there in time.
As the nation's only charity air ambulance, SCAA plays a crucial role in responding to life-threatening accidents and medical emergencies across Scotland. Our highly skilled and experienced crew of paramedics and pilots operate from two helicopter air ambulances and two rapid response vehicles from bases in Perth and Aberdeen.
Whether it’s a serious accident, a medical emergency, or a trauma incident, SCAA is there to provide fast, expert care before delivering patients to hospitals across the country.
Our life-saving service is especially vital in Scotland’s most remote and rural areas. In many cases, receiving medical care within the first hour — the "Golden Hour" — is the difference between life and death. SCAA’s ability to reach those in need, no matter how far, ensures that critical time isn’t lost. When lives are at risk, every second matters, and SCAA’s fast response can greatly increase a patient's chances of survival and full recovery.
We work in partnership with the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) as part of Scotland’s emergency response network, covering over 30,000 square miles. Whether in the cities or the highlands, SCAA’s air ambulance service is there when people need it most.
But we can’t do it alone. As a charity air ambulance, SCAA is entirely funded by the generosity of the Scottish public. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to save lives across the country. Every donation helps keep us flying, responding to emergencies, and making sure help is always within reach.
Help SCAA save lives—because when it comes to emergencies, every second counts.

BirnamArts Day- an over view from our Tournament Director |
|
”Another successful day's bridge at Birnam Arts on Wednesday 22 May.
We had 10 tables and played 30 boards.
There were just a few slam hands to note.
On board 4 7D, 7S and 7NT were there for the taking by E/W. No one bid a grand but Margaret Telford/Sheena Dunn and Sean Malone/Margaret Sinclair both found 6S Everyone was in spades and all made 13 tricks. Margaret and Sheena also came first overall East/West with a creditable 62.59.%
On board 9 there were small slams on in clubs, hearts, spades and no-trumps. Only Deannie & Angus McMaster found the 6NT - well bid them. (Sadly Miriam & I settled for measly 3NT).
On board 21Small slams in clubs and diamonds were on for North/South. Well done Carol Bisset and Linda Main for getting to 6C’s on a combined 27 count.
Derek Brown and Pricilla Collier from Perth were first North/South with 61.71%.”

Looking forward to seeing you all then!
Thanks to all who participated.
