IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR THIS NEW BLOCK OF LESSONS:

Our trials of the new Bridge playing platform RealBridge this week have been a great success. Everyone who's taken part has really enjoyed the experience.

I now plan to incorporate RealBridge into the Bridge1 and Bridge2 classes in our new Block of classes starting the end of October. This will mean that students can sit at tables and play the hands for each lesson and since that will take a bit longer the class will extend to a 2 hour class. A 10.30 start seems to be the most favoured option so I've adjusted the class times to that.

Since there has been little chance for supervised play for the last 6 months, my suggestion of using this block to remind you of the bidding you've learned in an incremental fashion, then spend most of the lesson in supervised play has had an avalanche of positive response. So that's at least how we will start the block in each class. I will select each week's hands to give a variety of bidding opportunities, encompassing all the bidding reminders to date so that as we go through the weeks, the hands will appear ever more random to ensure you are having to think through each hand.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS CHANGE DOES NOT AFFECT THE BEGINNING BRIDGE CLASS ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS. That class will for this block (Oct - Dec) will operate on the previous ystem and for the usual 90 minutes. Beginning Bridge Class will hopefuylly be able to move onto the new system in January.

STAGE OF CURRENT CLASSES

What have the students in my current classes covered?

BRIDGE 1 CLASSES -

WEDNESDAYS 11.00  am until 12.30 pm, Zoom link: WEDNESDAY BRIDGE 1 CLASS

and also on THURSDAYS currently from 5.00 pm until 6.30 pm, Zoom link: THURSDAY BRIDGE 1 CLASS

Students in these classes have already covered at least Chapters 1 to 3 in the Red Book 'Beginning Bridge' that's the first 12 or so classes out of 28 in the Full Beginners Course. In bridge terms that means they have covered 1 level openings of all sorts, and ALL possible standard responses to those opening bids, whether weak or strong as opener or partner. They have covered basics of Declarer play and Defence, and are therefore able now to tackle well most uncontested auctions.

BRIDGE 2 CLASSES -

TUESDAYS 11.00 am until 12.30 pm, Zoom link: TUESDAY BRIDGE 2 CLASS

Students in this class have covered the whole of the Red Book and have just started on the Green Book, Continuing Bridge. They should be able to tackle all bridge hands to a degree, and are now learning additional approaches and tools to enable them to play a more competitive game.
If you are interested in maybe joining one of these classes please get in touch with me  by phone or via the forms on this website.
