- Tuesday February 10th, at 9:30 AM, at the French Broad Community Center, 281 East French Broad Street, Brevard, NC 28712. June Patton will teach the two-hour classes every Tuesday morning for 6 weeks.

Who should take this class? It is appropriate for:
- People who have never played bridge
- People who have not played in a long time,
- People wishing to improve their game.
Bridge has changed a lot in the last 40 years. You will learn the newest methods of bidding and playing.
The first class will start at the most basic level, proceed through opening bids and responses to opening bids, and some basic defensive and basic playing techniques. We will be using a pre-publication version of a new book, and all materials will be provided free of charge. This introductory class is designed to give you a solid foundation in the fundamentals of bridge.
This class will be immediately followed by another six week class, Beginning Bridge II, where you will learn some more advanced bidding techniques (including Stayman and Jacoby Transfers, and how to handle more complex auctions), as well as additional play and defensive techniques. Beginning Bridge II is a follow-on to Beginning Bridge I. If you have already taken a beginning bridge class a few times, you could start with the second class.
