Do you want to make new friends?
Then join one of the FREE Bridge classes beginning:
- Tuesday August 1, 2023, at 9:30 AM, at the French Broad Community Center, 281 East French Broad Street, Brevard, NC 28712. Pam Harpootlian will teach the two-hour classes every Tuesday morning for 10 weeks.
- Sunday August 6, 2023, at 1:30 PM, at the Connestee Falls Clubhouse, Lower Exercise Studio, Brevard, NC 28712. June Patton will teach the two-hour classes every Sunday afternoon for 10 weeks.
Pre-registration is required.
Who should take this class? It is appropriate for:
- People who have never played bridge
- People who have not played in a long time,
- People wishing to improve their game.
Bridge has changed a lot in the last 40 years. You will learn the newest methods of play. You will learn Standard American Bridge.
The first class will start at the most basic level, proceed through opening bids and responses to opening bids, and will include the Stayman Convention and Jacoby Transfers. You will learn some basic defensive techniques and some basic playing techniques. There is a required text for the course: Bidding in the 21st Century. The cost is $23.95. It can be purchased from Baron Barclay or Amazon. (Note that the covers are different, but the books are the same.)

Join us for face-to-face at the French Broad Community Center. We have open duplicate games Thursday and Friday, and a 0-100 MP Novice game every other Tuesday. All games start at 1:00 PM
There is a casual game (no masterpoints) on the Tuesdays with no Novice game, and also on Thursday afternoons concurrent with the duplicate game. You can ask questions and discuss the hands during the casual game. You don't need a partner - just come and play!
