Registration is now open!

The Unit 171 Annual Unit Meeting and Winterfest will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM  at Blue Ridge Community College, East Campus Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

There will be a brief business meeting followed by presentation of the 2025 Unit 171 masterpoint race awards, and then a Unit Championship Game. A catered lunch will be served at 12:30 PM. The game is expected to be completed by 3:30 PM.  There will be two sections - 0-750 masterpoints, and Open. 

As with last year, registration will be online, and will be by pair.  When you register, you will be asked for your partner's name, your approximate total masterpoints, and whether or not you need a stationary table.  THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTERING IS MONDAY, JANUARY 12th, so that we can get an accurate count for lunch.

The cost will be $30 per pair for the lunch and the game. The lunch will be catered by Carolina Ace Barbeque.  The menu will incude pork barbeque, chicken barbeque, and sides.  There will also be dessert.  The Unit is subsidizing the lunch cost for the day.  If you would like to bring snacks to share for the morning, that would be most welcome, but it is not required.  There will be a space on the registration form for you to indicate if you will be bringing snacks.

We have made some changes to our reservation policy for our Thursday and Friday duplicate games.  While we welcome everyone, we will be giving priority to our long-time players.    Please see below.  

1. Reservations will open for Brevard Bridge Club (BBC) members 14 days before the day of the game.  BBC members will have exclusive reservation access for ten days, until 12:01 AM three days before the game.  BBC members can continue to make reservations right up until game time.
2. A Brevard Bridge Club member is defined as anyone who has played in one of our games before June 30, 2024 - about seven months ago, OR has played in one of our face-to-face games at least 20 times.
3. Non-members can email June (junepatton@gmail.com) one week before the game to request a reservation.  Non-members may not make reservations through the website.  June will add them manually starting the morning three days before the game.
4. The game will be limited to no more than 14 tables on Friday and 13 tables for both sections on Thursday.
5. Reservations will be held until 10 minutes before game time.
6. Anyone who does not show up for a game without cancelling their reservation before game time will receive a warning the first time, and have their reservation privileges suspended for two weeks the second time.

We are not requesting reservations for Tuesdays  even though you will see a reservation icon on the calendar for that day.  

Instructions for how to do make a reservation are below. 

Please note that while you must be a BBC member to make a reservation,  you DO NOT need to login to do so.  

To make a reservation:

1. Click on the Calendar link in the menu to the left (or click HERE).
2. Click on the date of the game for which you would like to make a reservation.  Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance.
3. Click on the Reservation Required link at the bottom of the popup window.  
   
4. You will see the current list of reservations.  Enter your email address, ACBL number, or name (exactly as it appears on the website) and then click the Check button.  Your email address will tend to work best here.
   
5. Enter your partner's name (and direction, if desired), and then click Add Reservation.button.
   
6. That's it!  You're done.

If you need to cancel your reservation, you can repeat steps 1 - 5.  Your existing reservation will be displayed, and you can click the Remove button at the bottom of the popup window.  Please cancel your reservation on the website.  Do not contact June to do it.

Reservations will be held until 10 minutes before game time.
