SUMMER LEAGUE 2024
The Bray "out with the old in with the new" Summer League will run every Tuesday evening until August 20th.
Or is it?
It looks like Shady's Back. Mia has just learned the lesson that if you're not in you can't win. Sean Maguire is leading the charge again with the following gang close behind:
2nd Maria Whelan & Trevor Murphy
3rd John Noonan
4th Peggy Kelly
5th Eileen Vickers
6th Mia Delaney
7th Mary Teehan
8th Alan O'Sullivan
Great to see all our summer visitors.

Bray Summer League Rules.
A masters degree in hard sums is needed to work out the scoring and how the prizes will be awarded but here goes:
Along with the normal weekly prizes the €500 in League Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition.
- The top 9 scores from 12 evenings count towards overall prizes
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
- Prizes include the best visitor, subject to numbers and playing a min of 6 times.
- There will be a prize for the top player each month who does not feature in the overall prizes.
Players are eligible for one prize only.
And now the easy bit - the awarding of points.
There will be Attendance Points and Placing Points
This year the league has been changed to favour less experienced players by awarding attendance points, which will be higher for the lower-graded players.
- 10 points for an A player,
- 8 AM,
- 6 RM,
- 4 NM +
For any pair playing the attendance points of the lower-graded player will be awarded to both players. So if Alan and BJ play together they will get 4pts but if they play with Jason they will get 8pts.
As with previous leagues placing points will be awarded on a sliding scale of 15 pts to the top pair down to 1pt to the pair in 15th place.
Luckily we don't have to pass a test on this year's rules before taking part in the competition and the more nights that you play the clearer they will become!
