Girls on tour ruled the world in Division 2 of the Lincolnshire Contract Bridge Association Winter league.

They retained the top spot AGAIN this year. The team comprised Sue, Claire, Lisa, Linda with Steve as reserve.

In Division 1 Richard, Pete, Janet and Lesley finished a very creditable 4th.

We are also pleased to announce that our Team, "The Bootleg Beagles" comprising Sally, Louise, Claire & Sue, were victorious in the Lincolnshire Contract Association Gold Plate held on 14 March 2023.

We are pleased to advise everyone that our new Dealing Machine has been delivered (7 July 2022).

Members now enjoy playing truly random hands, are able to see in the Results all of the cards held in each hand, and of course not having the flog of manually shuffling and preparing the hands at every session.

Congratulations to the victorious Girls on Tour team of Linda, Lisa, Claire and Sue winning Division 2 of the Lincs Virtual League.

The Lincs Virtual League is a competition open to any EBU member who is also a member of a club in Lincolnshire. They all say it's been fun. Play once a month for 4 months with teams from all over the county without leaving the comfy armchair. Cost £20 per team. Those who are wary of playing in county events should take heart at their success.

We are now able to play on Tuesday afternoons at 1.15 p.m. ready for play at 1.30 p.m.

These sessions are very social and will help to improve your level of play, be you an absolute beginner or whether you aspire to higher levels  .....  !!

We hope many of our members are managing to play bridge online. There are numerous websites that you can access to play, either for free or with a subscription.

The site which most of our members use is BBO - Bridge Base Online - www.bridgebase.com

Advantage of this site, it is free. Many of our players use the system and find it easy to navigate

You can register then just watch, play solitaire, join a table either on your own or with a partner, set up and play at your own table, or run a teams games of 2 tables.

There is also a practice section where you can challenge yourself on bridge master, or play on a practice table.

About 24 of our members use this site, and if you know their user name, you can see when they are online and invite them to a game. You can also send messages to each other.

All games are friendly and free to play, however if you want more of a competition there are always tournaments running, many are free and some incur a charge.

EBU run a Lockdown League which is open to all players, to enter you need a team of 4 players. Cost is £30 per team per season. You play 15 matches of 8 boards, usually 3 a week on Mon, Wed and Fri. Further details to be found on the EBU website

Lincolnshire Contract Bridge Association - www.bridgewebs.com/lincolnshire run a weekly All Comers tournament on a Sunday afternoon, there is a cost and you play about 21 boards. Further information on their website
