We are deeply saddened to learn that Mike Ivison passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, 1st September 2024, after a short illness. We send sincere condolences to Mike’s son and daughter, Rob and Jenny, also to his family and friends.
Mike was a true gentleman and one of life’s enthusiasts who, along with his late wife Josie, was a long-standing member of the club. He served on the committee before becoming our longest serving Chairman of 8 years following his election in March 2008. He acted as TD for the popular Monday evening Pairs, the Saturday Suppers and regularly made himself available as TD for Coffee with Cakes. He also represented the club in the Fylde League and was a regular supporter of club competitions. He has been sorely missed since he stopped playing at the club and his memory will be held in the highest esteem.
His funeral will take place at Immanuel Church, Pleasington Lane, Feniscowles, Blackburn BB2 5EW on Thursday, 19th September 2024 at 2 p.m., followed by private cremation. Thereafter, B&RVBC members are invited to join the family at Pleasington Golf Club.

| WGC Bar and Catering Summer Opening Hours |
WGC Bar and Catering Summer Opening Hours came into force on Monday, 8th April 2024. Tea and coffee with biscuits costing £2 will be served at our Monday afternoon sessions during the summer months.
During this period you can purchase drinks from the new machine in the main lounge for £2, payable by credit card or phone, but not cash or tokens. Alternatively, you can get drinks from the pro shop downstairs for £1.50 or bring your own flask.

The club is located at Wilpshire Golf Club, 72 Whalley Road (A666), Wilpshire, Blackburn, BB1 9LF
It can be accessed by leaving the Blackburn ring road at Brownlow Island.
There are very comfortable first floor premises and ample parking. A lift has now been installed
