Club Background

Berkhamsted Bowls Club was formed in 1985 and Berkhamsted Bowls Bridge Club (BBBC) soon after as a "club within a club", both as a fund raiser for the Bowls Club and to provide another social outlet for members and for the public.

Annual Membership to the Bridge Club is currently £10, but is free to Bowls Club members. All players pay table money currently £2.50 for BBBC members and £3.50 to guests/visitors.

BBBC has proved very popular over the years and restrictions on membership numbers have had to be applied (currently 80). The clubhouse has the capacity for 18 Bridge tables, though this is dependent on current Coronavirus regulations  (please see the Coronavirus notice on the Home Page for up to date information).

BBBC is a members club but visiting pairs are welcome if vacant tables exist; only rarely have visitors been unable to be accommodated but the possibility does exist, and existing members take priority.

Bridge at BBBC is of a good standard and is played in a friendly atmosphere; it is not for beginners.

The BBBC is not affiliated to the EBU.

Refreshments are provided on a "help yourself" basis from the kitchen to enhance the morning's enjoyment. During COVID times, it would be appreciated if you would bring your own mug to ensure safer hygiene.

Further information can be obtained from the Bridge Managers (Lesley Brown 07850 123441 and Liz Temple 07956 540781).

The Bowls Club hosts the Tring and Berkhamsted Improvers Bridge Club (TABIC) on a Monday to which those who know the basics of the game are invited (click here to see the TABIC website).
