ANC Australian Butler Pairs - November 13-16
This year this event is being run as an online RealBridge event. There will be Open and Restricted sections. See calendar for details.
New Club President
At our Management Committee meeting on September 21st, Janet Rogers formally tendered her resignation from her position as Club President. The Committee would like to express our most sincere thanks to Janet for her excellent service in the two years she was at the helm. They were a particularly difficult two years with several complex issues needing to be managed - not least the impact of Covid-19 restrictions and the need to offer on-line bridge alternatives to our members. Janet has worked tirelessly and efficiently to ensure the club continues to thrive in these challenging times.
At the same meeting Ken Simpson was unanimously chosen as our new Club President. Welcome to the chair, Ken!
F2F Wednesday Evening Club Pairs Off Again
The issues surrounding f2f play and the vaccination status of players are complex. In the absence of clear guidelines from the government (these will doubtless emerge as the details of the roadmap out of lockdown are fleshed out) the club is endeavouring to develop its own policy on these matters. However, as things stand, we have reluctantly decided that the return of Wednesday evening f2f play is premature and should be postponed.
Our apologies to those players who had booked to play. We hope to have a resolution soon.
NRBA GNOT Final Results

Sunbury Congress on BBO - October 24

Club farewells two long-standing members
The club extends its deep condolences to the families of two of our staunchest members.
June Hayes passed away at Bendigo Hospice on September 8, aged 85 years. June had been a member of the club since 2008. Her funeral service can be viewed at www.williamfarmer.com.au. Go to their tribute-centre page.
Wim Van Der Eynden passed away on Sunday, September 12 at Bendigo Base Hospital, aged 91 years. Wim joined the club in 2005. Details of his funeral arrangements will be posted when they come to hand.
Both June and Wim will be sadly missed by their bridge playing friends.
Lockdown eased but no F2F play - yet!
The lockdown of Regional Victoria (#7) was eased with effect from Friday 10th September. However, the devil is in the detail and there is now a 20 person per venue limit on community facilities. Whilst we could run 5-table sessions within those restrictions, we feel it would better to continue BBO sessions (where numbers are not limited) rather than have to turn people away from F2F sessions.
So, until further notice, F2F bridge will not be resuming. BBO events will continue as replacements for our Monday and Friday Club Pairs sessions. See calendar for details.
And, as always, the Covid regulation situation remains very fluid. Please regularly check this web site for updates to our playing schedule and conditions.

Due to the extension of the current Covid lockdown, our AGM, scheduled for Monday 6th September, has been postponed. A new date will be advised shortly.
