♠ ♥ ♦ ♣ The Robertson Cup on 26 January 2026 at 7.00pm ♣ ♦ ♥ ♠

The Robertson Cup is an individual event and players are asked to register as individuals.  Each player plays with a different partner in every round in the session.  The session is exempt for NGS purposes.

In view of the number of different partners each player will have in the course of the evening, everyone in the event will use the same bidding system.  The system is a simplified basic acol  system and may be viewed here.  There will be a card on each table setting out the bidding system so everyone has something to refer to on the night.

The movement only works in a satisfactory way when the number of players divisible by 4, i.e. with full tables.  Players will be taken into the event in order of registration so first in will definitely play and the last to register will play if we can find enough players from somewhere to make up a full table.  We will do our absolute best to ensure all those who want to play get a game so please register regardless of the number or entries showing in the list.  As the playing arrangements are not as straightforward as usual and we may need to find a player or two to make up a full table, registration for the event will close at midday on Sunday 25 January 2026.

It is a fun evening so we look forward to seeing plenty of entries.  The winner of the competition must be a member of the Club but visitors are welcome to come and play - particularly it they make up a full table.

Please note that Table Money is £3 for members and £5 for non-members.

Our venue for this event is the Richmond Room at the Beckenham Methodist Church, close to the Public Halls in Bromley Road BR3 5JE.
