Several of our members have expressed interest in supporting BCOH through qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) but were unable to do so because BCOH was not a public charity.
We are pleased to announce that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has recently designated BCOH as a public charity under the IRS section 501(c)(3). The IRS determination letter is on the BCOH website and you may Click Here to view. Many bridge clubs across the country, including the Bridge Academy of West Houston, are designated as 501(c)(3) organizations.
Donations to BCOH are now tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
Information on making tax-deductible contributions to charities is available at various links provided below. The Charles Schwab link (listed first) contains a good explanation together with a comparison of QCD vs cash donations.
Thank you for considering BCOH in your charitable giving plans.
