Victory Point Scales
The following Table, extracted from the EBU White Book (2017), contains the Victory Point allocations based on the IMP difference between the team scores. Normally, matches of 18 or 24 boards will be played and the appropriate scales are highlighted in green. In cases where either an adjudicated score or a 'tie-break' is required, the raw IMPS for any match in which 18 boards are played will be converted to the equivalent 24 board score solely for the purpose of the adjudication or tie-break process. This is achieved by the applying the scale factor sqrt(24/18) - for example a 32 IMPS win in a 18 board match will equate to a 32*sqrt(24/18) win = 37 IMPS. This scale factor is the same as that used to generate the tables below.
3.1 Victory Point Scoring
3.1.1 VP scales for teams-of-four
This is the WBF ‘discrete’ VP scale adopted by the EBU from 1st September 2013.
